Motherhood comes in all shapes and sizes. Many women have dreamt of starting families of their own ever since they were little girls, while others are caught off guard by its arrival. Some mothers are surrounded and supported by the wisdom of generations before them, while others have no choice but to go at it alone. For some, “one and done” suits them just fine, while others are thrilled to have half a dozen or more. No matter the circumstances though, one thing remains the same: motherhood is a season of continual change.
One of my greatest joys in life has been being blessed with the title “Mom” (or “Mother” as my youngest has always loved to call me) for almost 2 decades now. There was a time when I felt like a mother duck with my six little ducklings trailing behind me. Diapers, sleepless nights, and laundry seemed never ending. But now, all of a sudden, I find myself thrust into a new season, one of letting go. But as much as I desire to hold tightly to my children, I have faith that God’s plan for their lives is good. Join me as we take a closer look into the extraordinary faith of Jochebed and her example of trusting God and letting go.
- Are you finding yourself in a season of letting go?
- How can you trust God during this time and allow him to grow your faith?
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6
