Have you ever found yourself in the right place at the right time? Perhaps you came across someone who required help and you had exactly what they needed. Or maybe, the role was reversed and God preordained you to cross paths with the precise person who would be the answer to your prayers.
When Jochebed set Moses down in the Nile, she opened up the doors for God to do something miraculous in her and her child’s life. Shortly afterwards, Pharaoh’s daughter went down to the Nile to bathe. But one wonders why? The Nile River doesn’t exactly have a reputation for being safe or clean. In addition, palaces in Ancient Egypt were known to have huge luxurious bath houses. So why did Pharaoh’s daughter decide on that specific day, at that specific time, to go take a bath in the dirty waters of the Nile?
But then something caught her eye…a basket tucked away among the tall reeds. Beckoning her servants, she sent one of them to retrieve it for her. And what should she find when she lifted the lid but a beautiful, healthy Hebrew baby? The Bible records the baby began to cry and Pharaoh’s daughter took compassion on him.
Even in the most unlikely circumstances, God will strategically and divinely place people in your child’s life to minister to him, and to be God’s hands and feet. Vice versa, God will also use your child to be a witness and a light to those around him. God can do amazing things when we step back and allow him to work.
- Pray over the divine appointments and people God wants to allow to minister into your child’s life.
- Pray as your child launches out into the world that God will use him/her in a mighty way to be the light of Christ to those around him/her.
- Step back and witness how the more we let go as parents, the more we can see the hand of God upon our child’s life.
Then Pharaoh’s daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the riverbank. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her female slave to get it. She opened it and saw the baby. He was crying and she felt sorry for him. “This is one of the Hebrew babies,” she said. Exodus 2:5-6
