No Shortage Here

Grocery shelves bare…

Shipping delays…

“Help Wanted” signs in every window…

Businesses closing…

Every time you turn on the TV or open social media, you are flooded with news of nationwide shortages. And every time you go to grab your favorite cup of coffee, the crisis becomes reality, as the lines are insane and one or two employees try and do the work of many.

Let’s just be honest. It’s stressful. Everyone is feeling the strain, and it stirs up anxiety in even the most calm personalities.

The other day I found myself daydreaming about ”living off the grid,” buying a piece of land, growing my own food, and not caring about anything else going on in the world. Then I remembered what a horrible gardener I am and I hope my family’s survival never depends on my green, or lack there of, thumb. (We’ll starve for sure!) I’ve successfully killed a succulent before, no kidding!

As I pondered these thoughts, I decided to read my morning devotional, which coincidently, was expounding on this well known verse:

I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:12-13

The good news…

We can claim our peace.

We can own our contentness.

We can increase our happiness.

How? Trusting in Jesus.

Why? Because Jesus came so we can live abundantly.

“The contentedness that comes from knowing Christ is in unlimited supply; there’s more than enough to go around. In fact, the more of us who claim it, the more his strength, peace, and happiness increase.”

Jesus never runs out. He’s never out of stock. He doesn’t keep normal business hours. He’s never too tired to hear your prayers. He never grows weary and most importantly his love for you never expires! How great is that?!

“The abundance Jesus offers is a spiritual abundance that transcends circumstances, like income, health, living conditions, and even death. The abundant life is eternal.”
